Everything Ends (Painfully)

In time my clothes will turn to rags and I will be naked.
One day I will drown and I will be free.

Solitary Transmission Vol. 2

"We live as we dream alone..."

— Joseph Conrad, Heart Of Darkness

The Ballad Of Lucy Jordan

The morning sun touched lightly on
The eyes of Lucy Jordan
In a white suburban bedroom
In a white suburban town

And she lay there 'neath the covers
Dreaming of a thousand lovers
'Til the world turned to orange
And the room went spinning round

At the age of 37
She realized she'd never ride
Through Paris in a sports car
With the warm wind in her hair

So she let the phone keep ringing
As she sat there softly singing
Pretty nursery rhymes she'd memorized
In her Daddy's easy chair

Her husband he's off to work
And the kids are off to school
And there were oh so many ways
For her to spend her days

She could clean the house for hours
Or rearrange the flowers
Or run naked through the shady street
Screaming all the way

At the age of 37
She realized she'd never ride
Through Paris in a sports car
With the warm wind in her hair

So she let the phone keep ringing
As she sat there softly singing
Pretty nursery rhymes she'd memorized
In her Daddy's easy chair

The evening sun touched gently on
The eyes of Lucy Jordan
On the rooftop where she climbed
When all the laughter grew too loud

And she bowed and curtsied to the man
Who reached and offered her his hand
And he led her down to the long white car
That waited past the crowd

At the age of 37
She knew she'd found forever
As she rode along through Paris
With the warm wind in her hair

— Shel Silverstein

A Tender Yearning

The silent mornings saturated with explosions of warm light,
dark nights full of stars, and the ageless smell of mango groves.
I really do miss home these days.

Empty Dreams

A cold day. The Orange queen has retired, save for a few streaks of last light. Light traffic outside. Sitting by the fire playing some strings and not doing a very good job. Brrr...it's cold.

When In Egypt

Made this doodle in my History class today. Before you judge, I'm not really proud of what I did in class either. But tell me this, who doesn't love dancing Egyptians?

No Red Rose

"She said that she would dance with me if I brought her red roses,
but in all my garden there is no red rose."

Oscar Wilde

A Lucid Moment

Psychedelic explosions. Confusion. Colors. A moment of beauty.

24.10.12

High Romance

An endless talk of love,
no real passion.
And under these sad lights,
fever runs high tonight.

Turn around bright eyes.

fatallyborn, this is my reply...

... to the picture of your heart.

Make Love

"The nobleness of life is to do thus."

Dark Thoughts

Ah! The Faustus in me wants to conjure the Devil.

Halo

So, Mr. Sun's back in town. The last few weeks were covered in darkness and rainfall.
I went out today and did what I do best - watching clouds!

4.8.12

Never Look Back

   Embrace the chaos
   Dance to the rhythm
Follow where the music takes you
   Fall in love
   Never look back
   Never hide

27.7.12

Rhythmic Chaos

"But I don't want comfort.
I want God, I want poetry,
 I want real danger,
 I want freedom,
 I want goodness.
 I want sin."

 - Aldous Huxley, Brave New World

Neon

"Every night I cut out my heart.
But in the morning it was full again."
                                              - Almásy (The English Patient)

Same dream, seventh night
Lost in the same bright light
Thoughts scattered
Dreams shattered

Where are your loving hands?

Alexandra, Here You Go (As Promised)

I drew this one back in the Spring of 2011. I don't have a story behind this one, I don't even have a name for her. I just sat down on my table one afternoon and started drawing and completed it on the same day.

Only five people have seen this drawing so far, and they all loved her.

Suggestions for her name are most welcome.

13.7.12

Meet Trani (Excuse The Nudity)

The name Roberta lingered in my mind while I was drawing her but I finally settled on Trani because I was listening to 'Trani' by Kings of Leon while I was breathing life into this beautiful girl.

I love this drawing very much, if you ask me 'why?' I really don't have an explanation for it. Maybe it is her eyes, or maybe it's that lingering sense of loneliness she is experiencing that is so attractive.

If only she could hear me.

"I would love to see you smile. Someday."
